MOTORWAYS
Padova is linked by motorway (Italian "Autostrade") with Venezia, Milano and Bologna. Motorways are coded with an "A" followed by a number and the road signs indicating them are green (the signs indicating other types of road are blue).
Typical travel times:
a) from Milano to Padova (about 230 kilometers or 143 miles) is about 2 hours (100 km/h);
b) from Verona to Padova 1 hour,
c) from Venezia to Padova 30 to 50 minutes, depending on the weather and traffic;
On all motorways in Italy you must pay a toll when exiting. The driver is automatically issued a ticket on entering the motorway, and this must be produced at the exit. If you wish to pay by VISA, use exits marked "viacard" or "fastpay" and insert your card in the automatic payment machine.
The motorway speed limit is 130 km/h (off the motorway it is 70 km/h in the country, unless otherwise specified, and 50 km/h in towns, unless otherwise specified). While on the motorway, headlights must be turned on even during daytime. If you are not accustomed to driving on the right, please remember that roundabouts must be entered counterclockwise.

How to reach PALAZZO BO
We strongly discourage you from using your car for reaching "Palazzo del Bo".
It is almost impossible to find a parking in the old part of the city, and there are a lot of oneway streets and no thoroughfare zones which make it very difficult for a non-resident to find his way.

by foot from the train station: take Corso del Popolo, it is a big and long street and you will be just at the beginning of it exiting through the station main entrance. Just walk till the end of the street, and you will be in a pedestrian-only zone. Go straight on, go along till the end of the street, you will pass through a nice small square on your left (piazza Cavour) and a smallest one on the right immediately after(piazzetta Pedrocchi). Just after that, and just a few meters before the end of the street (via VIII febbraio), you will find the entrance of "Palazzo del Bo" on your left. There will be the conference indications on the entrace and in the building, just follow them. (It will take 15/20 min. by foot)

by bus from the train station: buses nos. 8,12,18,22 are suggested ( stop at Banca d'Italia, Riviera Tito Livio) the journey takes about 10 minutes
